weight loss in pregnancy uk | Baby Update 32 Weeks Whats It Like to Have Polyhydramnios

weight loss in pregnancy uk

I have had some questions about how I am feeling so I thought I would share what it has been like for me to experience Polyhydramnios with this pregnancy. If you have missed my previous posts, I have too much amniotic fluid in my uterus which makes my belly really big and it also causes early contractions (and possibly labor) because my body thinks it is further along than it is. For me it meant a hospital stay at almost-30 weeks to stop contractions.

Yesterday I had my follow up with the high-risk OB. Their ultrasound measurements showed the fluid is currently 21cm (which is below the risk). The measurements are a bit of an art project with different people getting different numbers (last week I was still measuring 25cm). The doctor I saw said they will continue to measure and assess me on a weekly basis for now. According to him, once I make it to 34 weeks, they would not try to prevent birth if I went into labor. He also mentioned wanting to induce me at 38 weeks. We shall see... my regular OB thinks I can go to 40 weeks and doesnt seem to feel inclined to speed up the process. As with all of our previous ultrasounds, this baby is staying head down.

 Baby #2, 32 Weeks

So, how does it feel to have Polyhydramnios?
Big Belly.
At 32 weeks pregnant I look like I am much further along than I am (comparison photo of when I was pregnant with Jack at bottom of post). I get a lot of questions about my due date and then incredulous (or sympathetic) looks when I say that Im not due until mid April. I have had a few joking comments about expecting twins, but mostly I get sympathy. Believe me, I know Im getting big. At least (for me) you cant really tell Im pregnant from behind...

Difficulty Breathing.
Starting around 20 weeks, I began experiencing a lot of instances of being light headed. For no reason, I will catch my breath and it feels like a giant weight is sitting on my chest. This feeling has progressed over the last 10+ weeks due to the excess fluid that is pushing on my lungs and organs. Thankfully I am not having actual problems breathing, but it can be really uncomfortable. This is also a major reason I continue to exercise. Aerobic activity improves the efficiency of the bodys cardiovascular system in absorbing and transporting oxygen, which is important when your lung capacity is diminished due to extra fluid taking up space.

Eating/Heartburn.
Also around 20 weeks I noticed that I felt extra bloated. This continued to where eating even small amounts makes me feel generally miserable. I feel hungry all the time and eating just makes me feel crappy. The best way I can describe it would be how you feel at the end of your pregnancy, except I am only 32 weeks and have felt this way for the last couple of months. Worse, it gives me heartburn like I cannot describe. I take Nexium every morning and supplement with Tums. In the beginning Nexium really helped, now I am just managing as best I can. I can get extreme heartburn from something as basic as drinking water or even the smell of food.

Baby #2, 32 Weeks Baby Profile

Braxton Hicks.
I had some Braxton Hicks with Jack, but not enough to really be of note. Around the time I started feeling this baby kick (18 weeks) I started having Braxton Hicks. They happen regularly throughout the day and do not hurt at all. They did land me in the hospital when I had them non-stop, every 2-minutes, for 12+hours straight (I was almost 30 weeks). They do not cause me any pain (Ive had paper cuts that hurt worse) but they are uncomfortable. At this point we are praying they do not jump start real labor. A few of the things that cause my Braxton Hicks include: standing up, sitting down, laying down, working out, grocery shopping, driving my car, walking, not drinking enough water or having a full bladder... I think this is also considered having an irritable uterus.

Very Hard Belly.
I have experienced a very hard belly since the beginning of my second trimester. This makes it really hard to give myself my daily shots in my belly. It also makes it very uncomfortable (and sometimes painful) when Jack wants to be held or if he wants to cuddle by laying on my belly. He has learned to be very gentle, but it is very difficult for me to have him lay on or beside me. This makes me sad because I want to be able to cuddle and carry him.

Putting on Shoes.
With Jack I remember having difficulty putting on my shoes some time in the third trimester. With Polyhydramnios, this sensation came much earlier (25 weeks-ish). Any kind of bending over is very uncomfortable due to the hard belly, Braxton Hicks and heartburn. In addition to bending, it is very difficult to roll over or get up from laying down with any kind of grace. This is a normal thing for later in pregnancy, it has just been uncomfortable and hard from a much earlier point for me. Shaving my legs is not gonna happen until after this baby arrives.

Heavy Belly.
Also starting around 20 weeks, I noticed that my belly felt incredibly heavy when I would lay down. It required extra pillows for support. All of the extra fluid just makes everything hurt. I dont really recall this with my first pregnancy.

Comparison: Pregnant with Jack, 32 Weeks

So, I guess the best way to describe having Polyhydramnios is experiencing typical end-of-pregnancy symptoms, just worse and much earlier. I still have 8 weeks to go with all of these lovely symptoms.

baby losing weight weaning | Traditions Tree Decorating 2014

baby losing weight weaning

Saturday afternoon and evening were spent decorating our Christmas trees. First came our real tree with the Gingerbread Cookie Ornaments and white sparkle lights. Jack was pumped about this experience. Though he was disappointed that we didnt have a star for the top (we do now).

I turned on the Christmas music and we added our cookie ornaments to the tree. We strategically moved Jack around the tree since he was inclined to hang everything in clumps together.

Im not sure what he liked more: hanging the ornaments or eating the cookies (Ill get to that later).

After our tree was decorated, we took a break before heading out to the local seafood market to grab dinner. A sampler platter for me and Daniel and salmon for Jack hit the spot.

After we had our fill of seafood, we headed home to decorate tree #2.

Our little fake tree was purchased in 2002 when we were first married. The tree skirt was actually used in our wedding. I think the tree cost us $10 at Big Lots and it has great sentimental value for us.

For a brief moment last week, we couldnt find the tree and we were both a little sad to think that it might have gotten lost in our last move. Thankfully Daniel found it.

The ornaments on this tree are really special to us.

They include old ornaments from our childhoods, gifted ornaments from our wedding, and ornaments we have collected on every trip we have taken over the last 12 years.

They also include ornaments that belong to Jack. A whole smorgasbord of memories can be found on our little fake tree.

One other tradition we typically do when we decorate our tree is to drink my special decadent hot chocolate, while watching a Christmas movie. This year we let Jack watch a Curious George: A Very Monkey Christmas and while drinking the special hot chocolate (for him I blended it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and skipped the kahlua!).

Now back to the cookies... while I finished making the hot chocolate that Daniel and I were going to drink, Jack came up to me and said that his mouth was yucky. He had dark brown stuff in his teeth that wouldnt wipe off and I couldnt figure out what was in his mouth.

After consulting with Daniel, we realized he had asked Daniel to eat a cookie and Daniel said yes. Unfortunately the "cookie" in question was a cinnamon applesauce cookie ornament that was 3 years old...

I hurried Jack upstairs to the bathroom to brush the remnants out of his teeth and off his tongue. He seemed fine so I had him drink a bunch of water. Thankfully he didnt have an adverse reaction to eating the ornament.

While I took care of brushing Jacks teeth out, the rest of the hot chocolate for me and Daniel burned. So much for enjoying it with our tree decorating! The whole decorating mood was killed a bit after that, but Jack still enjoyed hanging all of the ornaments.

Sometimes things go how you want them to, sometimes they dont. Such is life. But we will probably always remember how Jack ate a cookie that wasnt a cookie!

yoga for post pregnancy weight loss video | 2015 Book 2 David and Goliath

David and Goliath #mohausreading2015
A photo posted by Cheree Moore (@mo_haus) on

Book two for this year is by one of my favorite authors, Malcolm Gladwell. David and Goliath - Underdogs, Misfits and the Art of Battling Giants looks at how the little man (or weaker adversary) beats the expected winner in unexpected ways.

Gladwell offers that often the perceived weaker opponent can win whatever challenge they are facing by playing by a different set of rules. The premise being that David was a shepherd, used to fighting large animals with a sling, and not a soldier used to hand-to-hand combat like Goliath. He played by a different set of rules and ultimately defeated the giant.

The book is full of great examples from an unlikely girls basketball coach who utilized the full-court press to its full potential to tactics employed by Martin Luther Kings inner circle to bring focus to the inequality in America.

As always, I enjoyed Gladwells writing. Though toward the end of the book I felt like there was a lack of focus, but overall a good read.

I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars on Goodreads.

pregnancy weight loss videos | Hosptital Stay at 29 Weeks 4 Days

pregnancy weight loss videos

It has been quite the 48 hours. On Wednesday afternoon we met with the high-risk OB to assess the fluid in my uterus and get some updated measurements of Baby #2. Things started out well, we made sure to tell the ultrasound tech not to spill the beans about gender.

As she measured our baby, we both noticed that there were some variations on development. The extremities all seemed to be growing at the expected due date rate, while the head was measuring big. Neither of us were surprised since Jack had a huge head and we both thought that this measurement might be throwing off the overall measurement. Our doctor later told us that the belly was also measuring big and they aren’t sure why (my OB says we just have a big baby).

While I was getting the scan, Daniel and I both grew a little concerned as the tech spent about 15 minutes looking at the heart. It felt like too long to spend looking at one organ. Eventually she said the doctor would finish the scan and she left the room. My mind immediately flashed back to the day we found out that I would miscarry.

A few minutes later she returned, not with the doctor but with another tech. The new ultrasound tech was immediately able to locate whatever our tech had been looking for and we got an all clear for the heart.

At the end of the scan, the high-risk OB came in to take a look. She initially said that the amniotic fluid was measuring 20cm (what we thought our tech had told us the previous Friday), but her experience and the fact that my fundal height is huge and the baby is measuring big (3lbs14oz) made her keep looking. As she looked she realized that there were small pockets of fluid that were throwing off the measurement. Then she found a pocked that measured 17cm deep. This one measurement made my fluid rate jump from 20cm (safe) to 27cm which means I got an official diagnosis of polyhdramnios.

As I continued to lay there and talk with the doctor, I started to have what I thought were Braxton Hicks. She immediately noticed my discomfort. As we continued to talk, the contractions kept coming. They didn’t hurt, but I was obviously responding by squirming in the chair and breathing differently. She checked my cervix and it was closed and long and did not appear to be shortening. But she told us that she would feel best if I went to the hospital for monitoring…

We asked if we could grab dinner before checking into the hospital and she said that was fine. We called our friends who were watching Jack and they immediately offered to keep him overnight. So we did what all couples do when they find themselves with some unexpected time on their hands… Date night!!!

(we have a thing about eating steak before trips to the hospital)

After eating we headed to the hospital. The Labor and Delivery unit at the downtown hospital involves a decent amount of walking. All I could think about is that when I go into real labor, there is no way I will be able to walk the entire way to L&D. I guess we will cross that bridge when we get there.

We settled in as much as we could (we had nothing with us since I was 29 weeks and 4 days and we have not thought about packing hospital bags yet). I was immediately hooked to monitors that had to be constantly checked... all of the extra fluid in my uterus meant the baby has it’s own private swimming pool to move around in. I barely slept all night because the monitors were uncomfortable, contractions were every 2 minutes and the nurse kept having to come adjust everything to find the baby’s heart rate. Thankfully the baby handled everything fine. My night #2 nurse told me that she was working in Labor & Delivery during my Wednesday nights stay and she happened to see the print out of my contractions. Evidently I had more contractions than everyone in L&D combined... Im just glad they werent painful.

Two hours after our arrival I took another glucose test to double check about gestational diabetes. Again, we learned that I am not diabetic. It seems that there is just a big baby in there!

After that I started the medicine Indocine. This medication helps me in two ways: 1) it slows down the contractions and 2) it reduces the amount of amniotic fluid in my uterus. Win win.

Wednesday night we skipped my Lovenox shot as a precaution in case I had to get an amniocentesis the next day to drain some of the fluid. I was kind of excited to be getting to skip out on my daily shot. Then the nurse came in with a steroid shot for the baby’s lungs. This is all precautionary in case I do go into real labor, they want those lungs to be developed. So much on getting to skip out on a shot.

And then, as if I wasn’t hooked up to enough things, they came and put compression stockings on my legs for blood clot prevention. This is basically like the pressure cuff they use to monitor your blood pressure, but it was on my legs. It alternated compressing and decompressing each leg all night long. Did I mention that I didn’t get any sleep?

Daniel brought me some stuff for the hospital (important things like my pillow, laptop and a book!) and then he went home to get some much needed sleep. Meanwhile Jack was a trooper at his very first sleepover. If nothing else, this was a good trial run for our little family for when the real time comes.

Storm Trooper Jack and friends having an indoor campfire at his first-ever sleepover.

Thursday morning Daniel brought Jack to the hospital for a quick visit and we all went to my ultrasound scan together. My fluid had dropped to 26cm, but that wasn’t really a significant drop. The doctor and I agreed that since I don’t seem to be bothered by the extra fluid we didnt need to do the amniocentesis to drain any fluid, but they wanted me to stay one more night for monitoring to see if the fluid went down any more.

The best news was that I didn’t have to be on constant monitoring any more. I actually got a bit of sleep my second night in the hospital. I also got one last steroid shot for the babys lungs and continued the Indocine for another 24 hours. The best thing is that the baby is doing fine and the contractions basically stopped. The nurses and doctors kept asking me about my pain with the contractions and it really stayed at a 1 or 2 on a scale of 1-10 the entire time. They didn’t hurt at all, not like true labor. It was just really uncomfortable. I think the main concern was that, even it if didn’t hurt, it could trigger real labor and open my cervix.

As of 9pm Friday night, the steroid shots will be fully effective and the babys lungs should be in good shape if I do happen to go into real labor. Though at almost 30 weeks, we would prefer this baby keep cooking a little longer.

A Friday morning scan showed fluid had dropped to 25cm and they said I could be discharged. My only real restriction right now is no exercise for a week and to take it easy to let my body finish recovering. If nothing else, this little scare makes me realize that we need to get in gear and figure baby names; get baby gear and clothes out; furniture set up; put the car seat in the car and pack our hospital bags!

Finally I wanted to say thank you to everyone for the support we have felt – online and in real life. We have lived in Chattanooga for about a year and I continue to be pleasantly surprised by our friends (old and new) who have checked on us and offered to help with Jack. It means so much to me to know that so many people care about us and continue to check in on us. It has truly been a blessing.

pregnancy drug used for weight loss | The Big Outside Day Dreaming

pregnancy drug used for weight loss

One of the blogs I follow is The Big Outside. I like like to day dream about the big adventures we will take in a few years.

The other day Jack was sitting next to me while I scrolled through my blog list and the post on The Big Outside called 20 Big Adventures in Pictures came up.

Jack immediately asked if we could go hike here:

{image via The Big Outside}

As in he wanted to go hike there right now.

I cant tell you how pumped I am that at age 3 Jack recognizes the amazing beauty of the Tetons. Some day little guy, some day.

He was also curious about this picture of the bloggers daughter cross country skiing. Can we do that, mommy?

One day, buddy.

weight loss early pregnancy no vomiting

I have been an avid reader for most of my life. I like that books bring me knowledge, personal growth and entertainment. Since becoming a mother, I dont read as much as I used to but still make the effort to expand my knowledge (beyond surfing the internet). Below are the books read in 2014. You can click on the links to read my reviews over at Goodreads.

August-November
I attempted to read the following books and just couldnt seem to finish any of them...
I received a free copy of Somewhere Safe with Somebody Good by Jan Karon and I just couldnt get into it. I dont read a lot of fiction, and when I do it is typically historical fiction, sci-fi or dystopian in nature. This book didnt fit any of those categories and I never was able to commit to reading it.

America, Emipire of Liberty by

Khaled Hosseini courtesy of Goodreads. I really enjoyed it, but was too lazy to get a real copy and I am kind of over reading on digital devices at this point. Several years ago, I really enjoyed reading the Kite Runner and hope to finish this new book by Hoseeini when I get a chance.

I picked up How We Got to Now by Steven Johnson at my local library in an effort to get back into reading actual, tangible books. The premise of this book was fascinating, but the writing style was a bit ADD for me. I ended up rechecking it and made it 2/3rds of the way through, but just couldnt quite finish it.

Another library book I recently picked up was The Innovators by

If you are interested, here is what I have read over the last 5 years: 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013.

raw vegan pregnancy weight loss | Top 10 Highlights for 2014

raw vegan pregnancy weight loss

Perhaps because I am choosing to have peace in my life this year, I am letting something go that would normally bother me.

Since Daniel and I were first married, we have sent out Christmas/New Years cards in the month of December. Initially they were newsletters about what we had been up to that year and they always included a Top 10 list. Eventually it morphed into just the Top 10 list since my blog keeps family and friends updated throughout the year.

There have been some years I have missed, and unfortunately this year falls into that category.

I had good intentions, I even updated our address book in preparation, but December was full of end-of-year busyness for us as well as sickness. So I am letting my expectations go and posting a digital Top 10 instead of sending a real-life card this year.

I LOVE to get Christmas cards in December from friends and family. It reminds me of what it is like to get snail mail. It makes me feel connected and loved and its a tradition that I adore. I hope those of you that send cards continue to do so, and hopefully 2015 will be the year we get back on track with our card sending.

We kicked off 2014 living out of suitcases, with the hopes of getting resettled in the Chattanooga area. This year has been all about that transition as we adjust to a new home, in a new state, and strive to find work/life/family balance.

Here are our Top 10 Highlights from 2014

10. We started the year essentially homeless. Most of our belongings were in storage and we lived out of suitcases in a vacation rental home until the end of February.

9. We purchased our third house and spent most of the month of March getting settled. This is also the third state we have lived in since getting married. We can officially close the chapter on living in hotels and vacation homes.

8. We really love the Chattanooga area and have spent many weekends taking Jack hiking, biking or canoeing. As he grows we hope to have plenty of adventures as a family.

7. We experienced a miscarriage.

6. Jack started preschool. He is a really social kid and will regularly ask if he can go to either preschool, the Y or church.

5. We got pregnant again and are expecting our second childs arrival some time in mid April.
4. We took a family vacation to Mexico Beach. Jack is the perfect age to really enjoy this type of vacation. As always, Daniel and I love sharing new experiences with him. We had a great time swimming with dolphins and spending time with my family.

3. We finally embraced kid holidays. Daniel and I have spent most of our married life avoiding holidays that were overly kid oriented. Sure, we visited with family for Easter, but we never had a reason to go on an Easter Egg Hunt. We never trick-or-treated... In fact we were the couple that turned off our lights and hid in our basement instead of handing out candy. We have never even exchanged Christmas gifts with each other. So, we are in new territory when it comes to Jack. We are slowly forming new traditions and doing things like going Trick-or-Treating, even if it is sleeting outside.

2. Daniel and I celebrated our 12th anniversary. One of these days we would like to take a big trip to celebrate an anniversary, but since we are in the throes of parenthood, it looks like that may have to wait until our 15th.

1. We joined a small group. Ever since Daniel and I were first married, we have been a part of a small group at whatever church we attended. These small groups have shaped our lives and helped us feel connected to others. Small groups have provided a safe place for us to grow our faith as well as our marriage and family. We feel tremendously blessed to be plugged in with a small group again.
That pretty much sums up our 2014 year. We are looking forward to 2015 and all it holds.

If you are interested, here are our Top 10 List from Years Past
2003 | 2004 | 2005 | 2006 | We skipped 2007 | 2008 | 2009 | 2010 | 2011 | 2012 | 2013

weight loss during pregnancy in urdu | Cabin Fever

weight loss during pregnancy in urdu

Following the excitement of my 2 nights in the hospital, our entire little family came down with a stomach bug that has been going around. Jack and I lucked out with a 12 hour version while Daniel was out for a week. According to Daniels doctor, our entire neighborhood was sick. On top of that I was supposed to rest for the week after my hospital stay and then we had the recent winter storm. All in all, I was basically stuck at our house for the last 11 days and starting to go a little stir crazy.

After the sign off from my doctor, I have been anxious to return to life as usual, while still taking it easy. So even though the trees were covered with ice and the temps were in the teens, Jack and I were determined to get out of the house (Jack specifically asked to go dig dinosaurs).

We started the day with pancakes (its Pancake Day after all). Then made the trip to town so that I could work out. I have been missing my time at the Y – both the social and physical aspects. Note to the college-age childcare workers: If you havent seen a pregnant woman in almost two weeks, dont tell her that she "got huge since the last time you saw her."

We rounded out our afternoon with a visit to the Creative Discovery Museum so that Jack could "dig dinosaurs." Besides digging he got to touch a live corn snake. He was very fascinated by this experience. This was a good day and Im hoping I didnt overdo it.

vegan pregnancy weight loss | Baby 2 Second Trimester

vegan pregnancy weight loss

Its hard to believe that this trimester is drawing to a close. Other than feeling huge, I havent really wrapped my mind around the fact that Im pregnant and that a baby will be here in 3 months. We have barely talked about names, have made zero attempt to do any nursery-related projects and I had a dream recently that the baby arrived and I hadnt even unpacked the baby clothes we already have. I guess its time to focus on getting ready for this baby!

Heres my recap of my second trimester:

Week 13: Morning Sickness.
The last couple of weeks I have had a late onset of (mild) morning sickness… not sure if it is normal to show up in second trimester. To those of you who deal with this through the entire first trimester (or your whole pregnancy), I have some serious empathy. It is not fun.

Week 14: Emotional.
I have been feeling a lot more emotional lately (very different than I was with Jack). The good news is that most of my icky symptoms have subsided.

Week 15: Bloated.
I can barely eat a few bites before I am bloated and miserable. I am not even big yet. I don’t remember feeling like this with Jack. It is a terrible feeling.

Week 16: Good.
I am feeling good this week. I have been doing between 80 and 100 real pushups in BootCamp each week, which makes me proud of myself. I am finally looking a little bit pregnant.

Week 17: Sick. Sick. Sick.
I started the week with a migraine that lasted two days. Then proceeded to get a sore throat and chest cold. I don’t remember being this sick and miserable when I was pregnant with Jack. I guess that is because it wasn’t wintertime. Also feeling a lot of irrational anxiety about the possibility of blood clots this week. I give myself daily injections of blood thinners as a precaution, but I have felt really nervous lately.

Week 18: Showing.
I still haven’t gained any weight, but I finally really feel like I started to show. There is no questioning I am pregnant. There have been a few times I thought I have felt the baby moving, but not sure. It will probably be soon. Also my cold has now lingered for a full week. My voice sounds like a frog. I wake every morning at 3am, coughing. It appears that being pregnant during the winter months has a different kind of misery than being pregnant during the summer months.

Week 19: Kicks.
I started feeling flutters last week and then they began to feel stronger in the days to follow. By Thanksgiving I was definitely feeling distinctive kicks. This baby is a lot different than Jack was in the kicking department.

Week 20: Heartburn.
The heartburn really kicked it up a notch this week. I finally made the move to Nexium and my days are much better now. Kicking from the baby is also holding pretty steady. When I go to sleep and mid morning seem to be the busiest time for this baby’s kicks.

Week 21: Strong.
I am over my chest cold and generally feeling great. I am able to do quite a bit in my workouts. I love to feel strong. I am definitely looking pregnant now and have even had strangers ask me about my pregnancy. My funniest experience was a lady at the mall who told me that I was tiny. It sort of made me want to giggle because I have never been tiny in my life. I have always had a more muscular build and the word “tiny” has never felt like it applied to my body shape. Anyways, it was a nice unexpected compliment.

Week 22: A Blur.
This pregnancy feels like a bit of a blur. With Jack I tracked every week and experience. This time everything is flying by too quickly to really analyze. I finally gained a couple of pounds, but can still wear most of my own clothes.

Week 23: Braxton Hicks.
This was a surprise. I had some BH with Jack in the last trimester, but these seem early and strong. A weird side effect is that I sometimes get lightheaded when I have these contractions. I read online that this can be because there is extra blood in your system to support the pregnancy and when your body contracts, the blood flow stops temporarily, causing a bit of a head rush. Thus the light-headed feeling. It is very strange. I feel the need to lie down more and have been trying to drink more water to ward off the Braxton Hicks.

Week 24: Large.
We have been busy celebrating Christmas with family. All of a sudden, I feel exceptionally large and it shows. In some photos, I feel like I look ginormous; in others, not so much. I guess it depends on the day, how much I have ate and what I am wearing. I have gained just over 5 pounds. Also, my belly button has popped out.

Week 25: Exhausted.
After 10 days of visiting family and celebrating the holidays, I am beat. Back pain is becoming a normal thing. Thank goodness for ice packs. I haven’t worked out in almost 2 weeks and I am nervous about starting back up. Just hoping I don’t hurt myself! I tried to wear maternity pants this week because my normal jeans are getting uncomfortable when buttoned… the maternity jeans just fell off of me. Time to get a belly band!

Week 26: Pain.
After 7 days with a severe head cold, I started having chest pain when I coughed. After 2 days, it became a constant pain that radiated from my chest and back. It was excruciating. The on-call doctor at my OB told me to get checked for pneumonia at a walk-in clinic. The walk-in clinic refused to do an x-ray (which I was fine with). After some discussion, we both agreed that the pain was muscular. The doctor cheekily told me to stop coughing and the pain would stop! He also prescribed me Amoxicillin to help me get over the sinus trouble. It’s been a rough week, but hopefully I will be on the mend soon.

Week 27: Ahead of Schedule.
This morning I had my Glucose test and OB visit. As to be expected, the glucose test was gross and I was starving by the time I was done. My OB said the fundal height of the baby was measuring 30 weeks instead of 27, so she wants me to get an ultrasound in 2 weeks to see what is going on. I have been feeling huge, but thought maybe it was all in my head (though I have gained about 12 pounds over the last month). This measurement confirms that I am measuring bigger. Also, I havent had a specific diagnosis, but my OB seems to think I may have pleurisy from my cold (the one that has lingered for 2 weeks). She prescribed some stronger pain medicine to help take the edge off. It really has been 7 days of the worst pain I have ever experienced.

That pretty much wraps up the second trimester. Three months to go and Baby #2 will be home with us.
