post pregnancy weight loss routine | Start of Preschool 2015 3s Class

post pregnancy weight loss routine

Last year, as I walked Jack to his first day of preschool, I had a big lump in my throat. It would be our first time apart for any appreciable amount of time during the day. I held back tears as he made this first transition of many that will prepare him for adulthood. My little social boy didnt bat an eye as he marched into his class with new friends and new teachers.

This year was a little different. We barely had time for a photo as I herded my sweet boy out the door and quickly buckled him and his little brother into the car. On the drive to school, we talked about the importance of not having a potty accident at school, and then in a flurry, I dropped him with a new teacher and new friends. I dont even think he stopped to hug me goodbye.

What a difference a year makes.

A month later, we are in less of a hurry. I am learning from my more experienced mom friends and packing lunches the night before, while also making a more concerted effort to not be late every.single.day. Jack is also taking a moment to pause and give me a hug and kiss before he runs off. Each morning at drop off, he also tells me that he will miss me. I love my sweet boy who is growing up too fast!

post pregnancy weight loss rate | Hidden Hills Farm Tractor Play Day

post pregnancy weight loss rate

Today marked our second visit to the Hidden Hills Farm and Saddle Club for a play day. Its hard to believe that Isaac was only a month old for our first visit! Thankfully Daniel was off of work today (after working the last 10 days with only one day off) and we were able to take advantage of the beautiful weather and a farm full of tractors to play on.

This play day was made for Jack and Daniel. They were in a truck heaven. Hopefully in a couple of years, Isaac will be enjoying this experience just as much.

There was a skid steer that Jack got to drive (and then ride in the bucket of).

There were tractors to sit on and play with all of the controls (and Daniel gladly patiently answered every question Jack had about every lever and button in every tractor).

There was a backhoe to operate (Daniel was in his mid-twenties before he got to use a backhoe, and may have been a teeny bit jealous).

There was a bucket on the backhoe to ride up in the air in (you just had to trust the operator working the bucket).

There was a Kubota utility vehicle to drive in the back field. Jack had fun steering it any way but in a straight line.

And of course, there were horse rides again.

This was little boy heaven (and I have two little boys and one big one if you count Daniel).

The Cow Milking day that we attended in May was a fun event, but the Tractor Day is going on our calendars as a family day for the future.

If you missed this weeks Tractor Day, they are having another one next Thursday, Sept. 24. The cost to visit the farm is $10 for your first child and $5 for subsequent kids (babies are free). Tractor Day is definitely worth the visit. We had a wonderful time!

Jack gets to help drive a skid steer, then take a ride in the bucket.

Jack and Mommy ride in the Backhoe bucket.

Jack and Daddy play with the dump truck, while Isaac gets up close and personal with the skid steer and Mommy almost has a heart attack.

pregnancy weight loss success | Chattanooga Duck Tours

pregnancy weight loss success

We are lucky to live in a tourist town. While most of the time we stick to local activities, sometimes it is nice to play tourist and learn a little more about the city we live in.

This past week a Groupon popped up for the Chattanooga Duck Tours and we decided to go with some of our friends.

Jack was very excited because as he said, it was his first time riding a bus AND riding on a boat. Not to mention that this vehicle was BOTH. (He may have forgotten, but he has been on a boat before here and here).

This excursion lasts about an hour but was enjoyable for all of us (well, Isaac didnt really care). Jack loved being on the water and all of the kids were given an opportunity to drive the boat.

When Jack got back in his seat with me, he proudly told me that he was a captain now.

I really enjoyed the history of Chattanooga that our captain shared with us. We learned that the Indian word "Chattanooga" meant "Rock Point." Literally where two mountains point at each other across the Tennessee River.

We learned about how the Walnut Street Pedestrian Bridge was saved and how the downtown area was restored from 100+factories to what it is today.

We discovered that the river used to routinely flood and that the city had to be raised because streets had been flooded up to the 3rd floor of buildings.

We learned about how Maclellan Island was purchased by the Maclellan family and used to raise cows (until a flood swept many of the cows away).

And how the carousel at Coolidge Park was given to the original artist, Bud Ellis, who is a master wood carver who continues to carve carousel animals at his studio, Horsing Around.

Our captain also told us his top recommendations for things to do in Chattanooga:
  1. The Bluffs View Bed and Breakfast which is expensive, but if you dont have time or money to do this, go to Tonys Pasta Shop & Trattoria and Rembrandts Coffee (both of these are favorites of ours).
  2. Maclellans Island – free but you have to have a way to get yourself there. Either kayak, paddle board or boat.
  3. Coolidge Park – the fountain and carousel are a local favorite.

The Captain also let us know that the Hunter Museum of Art is open for FREE to families on the first Sunday of every month. We will have to check it out some time. We learned so much more that I cant even remember, but it was all fascinating.

Overall it was a fun and informative trip and we hope to go back when Daniel has time to go, maybe when Isaac is old enough to enjoy the experience as well.
